Revenge can be sweet to the soul
Feeling of contentment knowing
The one causing you misery, pain of heart
Has it back In double doses
Sweet revenge —

You took my man leaving me in knots
My baby without a daddy to grow up
You interfered we still conceived
When you did not though not the plan
Sweet revenge —

The look on you face when heard the news
Wish I was there to see it all
We got married leaving you behind
To reap your just reward
Sweet revenge —

You wanted to fight I kept the peace
Being aware you were there
You had you family I had mine
I’ll never fight like a cat
Sweet revenge —

In the Bible revenge is mine says the lord
Be wrathful but do not sin
Never heat up to do evil
Leave anger,  leave rage alone
Sweet revenge is not mine —

I appreciate moderate constructive criticism
This is one of my first post here. I revise it and made some considerable changes.

Oh, dear, I am a bad person

I also love revenge but mine tends to take the nasty vindictive form. I always hate it in movies when the ultra-bad guy who has tortured and ruined the lives of so many people just gets shot. I want to see him suffer.
Oh well, just another thing to add to the list of “make myself a better person”.
Your poem was beautiful, apt and well written.
cheers,
Jess

IF Only.

If only this was always true, yet it seems that into day’s life,
the wicked seem to strive and the meek suffer,
I try to live my life,……As
Treat others as how you would like to be treated,
But this has been a very painful, costly experience,

Revenge…..Often not that sweet,
On the few occasions this has been,
But generally - leaves a guilt taste,

As Always - Great

Makes me sad

Barbara Writes

sorry to hear that, I Try to treat person
the way I would like to be treated makes me feel good,
the wicked strive as the meek suffer, revenge is not as sweet, and guilty taste
shows you are a good person at heart. some strive on revenge no good
I just leave it alone and move on. having a clear conscience gives me comfort.
