For those who can read an Acrostic, ponder the question…Does Hallmark beckon? Have you escaped group therapy and have something to share? Are you prosecuting our minds with sniveling, drivel, best left in a child’s disposable excrement sack? Ponder long and hard the question posed….

re:

sometimes I write poetry, sometimes I write shit, I suppose it depends. Apparently the book of Jeramiah, and some psalms in the bible are long acrostics. I have a couple on here, I’ve been hoping that someone will crack the riddle that I’ve placed in the poem “of type.” So far nobody here has.

I love acrostics

and especially acronyms. Once wrote a love poem to a girl named Sam using only those 3 letters, in order. That was a chalenge! Swimming amongst mermaids seems altogether mediocre since attraction made serving amour my sweetest aim… etc

Then comment upon the acrostics of the offending poet.

you speak of.One thing to cry fowl when someone leaves a log floating in a community bowl but if you should make a fuss and not flush then that is just irresponsible.

harsh feedback gets honest replies from others on the site .so that when they comment otherwise it is seen for what it is worth genuine.I look forward to reading your comments as you make your return.

Endless Posting Acrostic

Well to give you an answer, this piece was not posted on this board as a vieled slam against anyone. It was actually a reply to another poets challenge on his home page. I just thought it would be interesting to see how many folks had some form of conflict with it or would see the humor in it.

But by my word it is not nor has it ever been aimed at anyone on this site!

Though it made me think I do acrostics

for three reasons Writers Grease to get over writers block(should have thought a bit about posting those…lol)

Then I use the form for mnemonic effect (Impact from one of those…caused a stir)

Three I am still on that project.

I like acrostics(I discovered them before I knew what they were)second to Haiku and Jess
really reintroduced me to haiku after I posted a few Zoo Haiku and he was right on it.
The crit from Jess has been valued and absorbable to my continued form exploration.

This Acrostics mnemonic effect is intresting the singular line is stark yet the anchor phrase seems a bit forced…but it challenges the acrostic form to be used legitamently.

No slam felt David. If there was I would have written a slam acrostic back….not really.

to add a bit to the toilet metaphor the log deal:ever notice the people we meet that witness something blast aweful then wait instead of guiding the “offensive” person with etiquitte in the matter they sheath and the first thing they do do is call every body together to dis and berate the person.like calling the party together when somebody double dips a chip,or doesn’t flush the toilet…mean people or people who lack skill to interact individuelly to real or percieved fax paus…

A nudge of humour in an awkward situation can prevent not only repeat behavior but also
encourage the reciepent to examine there social graces.

Yet lets be clear that some people really are out to be a party pooper and they defy those who would have an all around good time…they get the heave ho.

So you made me think and it felt “personal” but that is because my ego makes everything a little “personal”.

In ink,
Dabbler
