THE SHADOW IN THE VEIL
From left of corner’s turns
Blinking twists in twinklings of dead still eyes
Billowing white curtains of smile appear reflecting again
Teeth that bite each second of always.
Rising, a stretch to join a hand a reach for
Recurring songs inside a dream
Wisps of moments returning from forever
To tease a heart unwinding
Heal a mind resigning
Calm a soul contriving to
Clasp the shadow in the veil and go.

Now don't try this at home!
I love this piece, beautifully written too.
Ever read a book called “Opium and the Romantic Imagination”, by Alethea Hayter? Drugs have liberated many a poetic mind, and of course ended up stifling many.
cheers,
Jess
