Eyes of innocence,

Wisely alert,

They hold the knowledge,

They ease the hurt,

To look upon his beautiful face,

Makes me feel completely at peace,

To feel the love of this tender child,

Makes all the pain and sorrow cease,

The essence of his newborn skin,

Brings a harmony to my heart,

Like wrapped in a cocoon of love,

It’s the joy of a brand new start,

His eyes hold the meaning of life,

The continuence of us all,

He holds the keys to the future,

Let him stand proud and tall.

This is dedicated to my newborn son, born on Nov. 21st.He's the best thing that's happened to me in a long time.

I see this printed on something

and being a memento.I wondered how a mother must feel
this brings it that much near to me.I have read two great poems ..three and I am struck each time.Birth
brings new perspective to someones life and that is in this poem as well…a milestone as a poet Lacy.

Cheers,
David

Thank You David

and I’m glad I could put some perspective on the subject for you.I wrote this from the heart and didn’t expect such high praise.I just wanted to write down my feelings of overwhelming love for this tiny little creature that depends on me for love as I depend on him for the same thing.
Lacy,

Where power corrupts,poetry cleanses.

When I see a mom hung up on what she has to do

all the time for her baby
I politely tell her what does the baby do for you?

they are taken outside and something clicks
babies notice subtle things like that( I am sure they do)they are not on a schudule they are not even in time yet that last sentence in your comment shows strong bonding is happening something I see less of sadly.

In ink,
David
