As this community grows, I would like to entertain a thought for the future.
I know that most here would hate to see advertisement sold. It would help defray operating expenses.
It could also help fund our own press. It would be something that could help a lot of struggling new poets out. It would make a real publishing credit on a resume’. It would also help establish this as a dedicated and legitimate community.
By publishing our selves, we as a small press would also be able to promote and or nominate a poet(s) for the annual Push Cart award for excellence in Poetry. This is a very prestigious award for the small press community.
This is a thought or a series of thoughts I have been having of late. For those who might read this BLOG, I hope it makes you want to comment on it. I don’t care if, its here on my blog page or in the public forum. Regardless, I think its a subject for the not too distant future, that will need discussion.

Personally and I for one think it a great idea HOWEVER I will fight so long as I am able that any advertisement be consistant with the quality standards that exist. One thing for sure - If I ever see animated advertisement on this site well . . I’m a tuna “See ya later Charlie”
Its something to be
Its something to be considered. With this we could also link legitimate small presses. Unlike the vanity presses we have discussed in another forum. This way not only would we recieve a few shekels helping to keep our boat -a-float, we could steer fellow poets to places that would actually print their work.

I like the idea of advertisement on our site but here is my idea on it

Make the entire sight past present and future attractions free to the public but fill it full of advertisements of every kind. If they want to erase the advertisement they have to pay $x/month or get a discount if they pay per year. With the paid advertisement and the paid accounts we’ll have more than enough moolah to keep this site afloat.
Different view
