I promise you my loyalty
I promise for you I’ll pray,
and I’ll remain right by your side
no matter, come what may.
I promise to be careful
when you trust me to hold your hand,
and should you prefer to walk alone
I promise to understand;
and should your soul get weary
and tired before journey’s end,
I’ll do my best to comfort you
and I promise to be your friend.
My promises aren’t empty
there as timeless as eternity,
the easy thing about it is
you’d do the same for me.
I’ve one final promise,
a promise sent from God above…
..I’ll cherish and I’ll treasure you,
for you taught me how to love.
I want the raw truth, feel free to knock me on my back

Mistakes happen, do not dwell on them, live them, mourn them and move on to better things. (PS: if that does not work eat lots and lots of chocolate)
my friend...
…..thank you for not thinking this work too syrupy, or something. I have more love poems that I’ve been leery of sharing, because I just “pretend” to have someone that I’m writing to. I think it’s a good excercise, but to answer your question…no. There is no “better half” in my life. You might say that I’m getting prepared for her. :)
Thanks again…and maybe you’ll enjoy this next write that I’ve been working on.
