now its over
a lifetime
spilling out of that sacred container
free and easy
his hands coated in a fine layer
we remember the plaid shirts and cardigans
no grave for him his wishes said
no place to go and stand
and say
Hey Dad I Love you!
stayed away from my father the last year he lived also
it hurt his feelings very much
and i wasnt there for his funeral or birthday when
he turned eighty
he was so loved by all
its too late to say "I'm sorry"
its too late to go back home
wish i could say the same
but posted
un-eulogy
as my only response.
