Spent the morning
Frantically flinging my words to pages
In the depth of my mourning,
Because it’s you I miss.
I sealed my letter with a thousand tidings.
Memories and dreams and kisses
Good intentions, things I’ve perfected…
Apologies for things neglected…
So many things undeclared and yearned
All the lessons I have learned…
Writing you another correspondence,
Recalling your despondence,
And all my unreturned desire,
I gave it to the fire.
No matter what it is I yearn,
These are just more words to burn.

sigh. another love poem
yes, more words to burn.
But you can write, would like to see what else you can do.
Cheers,
Jess
Come on now Jess! I’ve
Come on now Jess! I’ve written on a bunch of different subjects! It doesn’t help that I just went through a breakup…you know how it is!
I know,
one of my recent poems was about a breakup 8 years ago!
Will try to catch up with your other work,
Cheers,
Jess
dude.
sorry about your break-up.
I love your title though. yay!
but really, this is a nice poem,
the subtle but not so restraining rhymes..
yep, I like it.
Bad Break-ups
Are the pits, and you describe those feelings well. I especially like the ending, as it is strong on closure:
No matter what it is I yearn,
These are just more words to burn.
Good job!
Always, Cat
