Not All Said Comes Out Right

Words unintentionally offends somehow
The ones we try to love and cherish
When carefree words inadvertently
Become twisted beyond parted lips

A lie is easily believed
When the truth is not accepted
Those spreading slanderous beliefs
Bring pain to those not yielding
Appreciation for the views of others

Two victims with stubborn hearts
Lose a precious friendship
Unwilling to talk it out, when
Malevolent lips speak unkind words
That set ablaze two hearts in drought

Not all said comes out right
If it did we’d all be perfect
Giving friends a benefit of doubt
Not assigning negative thoughts
Behind every action, promote peace

I want the raw truth, feel free to knock me on my back

As Voltaire said of Paris

4

“J’habite un désert, et je m’intéresse toujours à Paris comme on aime ses anciens amis avec leurs défauts” I live in a desert, always interested in Paris like an old friend with their shortcomings…my BAD translation. This is the benefit of the doubt you refer to too?

Well put Barbara, you are right, we can sometimes be hasty in our judgement of a situation and say things we regret afterwards and even do for the rest of our lives, even after having ironed them out with the other person, they hang on like black night shadows and spoil the light of friendship - that most wonderful gift of all maybe, as, if both friendship and great love become married in two people then this is perfection in this life of ours.

Good thoughts and poem Barbara, just the little mistake in the plurals, it is a modern trait and maybe will become accepted as the norm I think, but yet its not right: -

“Words unintentionally offends somehow” Take the S off Offends and it will be perfect.
