The Kingfisher’s Flight
A chittering fishcatcher’s dawn flight strung
Like crepe from shoreline tree to tree.
This flashing-mind-samadhi;
The first morning glimpse of sunlight is scattering
Shattered jewels like the light
I saw shimmering over
The gu’nels of a wooden Green River skiff
When I was young.

Thank you Ronda. A
Thank you Ronda. A kingfisher’s flight is very much like that; or so i thought at the time.
Your poem of Venus and valor is a wonderful expression of that most tragic of human frailties- self inflicted aggression. Your poem is a small act of acknowledgment eloquently presented. You do good work young lady.
Thank you for the kind words
