I know how it feels to be the second man on the moon,
I heard her sigh quietly, the moment I came to soon.
I bought the suit the reduced the next day in the sale,
And from a shelf full of fresh baked confectionary, I bought the cake that was stale.
And in the race of the hare and the tortoise, I was the snail,
And a week on the beach is just peachy unless your a whale.

It’s a one to one shoot out,
But i have the sun in my eyes
We search for a hero to guide us but some how we’re blind.
It takes an hour to walk home but I’m the one wearing high heels!
I took a pill for the thrill, but it turns out
actual life is more sureal.

And in the race of the hare and the tortoise I was the snail.

I’m the clown not the joker, Edward II not the poker,
The draft not the heater,
a learner not teacher,
If i was part of a car I’d be a side impact bar,
Like a fashoinable cardigan, it’s just a no!
And in the race of the hare and the tortoise we are all just the snail.

I want the raw truth, feel free to knock me on my back
What did you think of my title?
How was my language use?
What did you think of the rhythm or pattern or pacing?
How does this theme appeal to you?
How was the beginning/ending of the poem?
The initial response to a new 'poet' has been less than friendly (some exceptions). I suggest that some of you expand your opinions a little and try to understand that we don't all live in Tolkien world.
