Greatest Influence My Goddess of the Thoughtflow
About me I´ve been writing for more than 20 years now, first in German, then in English, which I believe to be one of the most flexible languages that exist. My alias Ink Dragon refers both to my Chinese sign of the zodiac and to my tattoo (a dragon in ink). I have been complimented on my generosity, but believe me, I am only generous because I rely on others' generosity. Despite not being an English native speaker, I usually have quite a good command of English grammar and spelling and tend to be nitpicky to the point of being a pain in the bum about these things. (Lapses on my part may, of course, occasionally occur, and I am always grateful to those who point them out to me.) I have a rather warped sense of humour and often indulge in "dark" subjects, but that is merely camouflage... I am delighted when I meet people who can see through my disguise, though I like to take my time when befriending someone.

Kelsey,

I´ve checked but couldn´t find an age limit. As a general rule, under eighteens are not allowed to stay in clubs or pubs after midnight in Germany, though.
Might not be a problem if you don´t look like seventeen and nobody asks you for your ID, but maybe you should wait till you´re really eighteen, to be on the safe side.

Nina your picture has changed

What is it, is it a poem that got away, a dream of a poem that flew in the blue sky, a peace dove that is singing her song, or something appearing out of the mist one early morning of sun? And they changed all of you you’s in the little box there, I like to see you, but I can see it is your painting.

I took one of myself for this

Just in the ‘bathroom’ mirror, as I was at the end of 2008.

I sometimes would have liked to include a picture with
a poem as there are some that go so perfectly together,
we should have one more tiny space for that eventuality I think?

No geese yet although I spent a while today just enjoying
the wide expanse of blue sky while sipping
my Darjeeilng tea on the veranda. Not a bird in sight.
I did see one fly towards the woods, it must have been
a big bird but as I watched it it seemed to fade into the woods.

No, water, for now anyway, beautifully painted

Hi Nina, ta for letting me know, I saw your lovely water painting on my way through the multitude of new incoming messages after being away for a few days, I was just making my way to YOUR page to tell you I love it,

I so LONG to see the real thing though, it seems to have such evocative textural elements.. mmm but even in 3D it is very moving… ahh water is such a divinely inspiring element… Beautiful painting Nina.

Now to see if you have any new wordy masterpieces to view.

Cheers

Anni

Paint and poem

Of your painting, write a poem Nina, it has the elements of
a most wonderful journey of the imagination?

Oh Ann,

I am not one of these poets who are very good at painting nature with their words. I tend to sound pathetic if I try. But my love for the elements can be found in my paintings. I think I´d rather leave it at that.

But I do thank you, painter of wonderful paintings that you are yourself, for complimenting mine.

Tatooes & influences, how we inspire each other subconsciously?

Hey Nina, I see you have your tatoo up, love the image, just thought I’d acknowledge writing a tatoo piece today, but wanted to say it was actaully a continuation to a reference I had written to someone early this year, it occured to me you may feel I was leaning into your territory & it may well be that I was prompted to revisit as a result of reading Kata’s beautiful ode to you, but it was not conscious until after I posted, when I saw your icon up… I shall write a note to her as well, just in case.

Anyway, you know I love it… Do you know Joni Mitchells “Blue”…

“…hey blue… here is my song for you… ink on a pin… underneath the skin…”

How we inspire each other

Anni, this is really sweet of you, but no need!

We always inspire each other and sometimes someone or something just strikes a chord and triggers our remembering an old piece or even sparks a new one. It has happened to me often here. (Longo inspired my posting “Eve´s elegy”, for instance, and my dear friend RSScheerer is indirectly responsible for my poem “Hurt” and its sequels, because she posted her “Silent but Screaming” series, to name but a few of these incidents).

What´s your tattoo piece called? I will have to read it. (Tattoo addict that I am ;)

Yours,
~Nina

P.S. The photo of my tattoo is not a good one, I will have to ask Kata to do a proper one soon.

Submitted by Ink Dragon on 11 April 2009 - 1:44am.
Ink Dragon's picture

Hi Kelsey,

my dragon tattoo is on my back. And in my experience, most people who have one are proud of their tattoo and like being asked to show it. But I must admit that I do not always show it to the kids at school if they ask (usually, I am wearing something that covers it, like your teacher, but sometimes they will get a glimpse of it in spite and, of course, want to see it then.)

Good luck on asking for that piercing! My parents hated my nose piercing. (They hated the dragon tattoo, too, but have meanwhile gotten used to my crazy preferences in style.)

Love,
~Nina

Anni,

we took those pics of Tower Bridge last summer, my friend and I, and we tried to make it look like we could touch the bridge… It’s a funny little pic, looks like the bridge is suspended by a human hand, and I love the shape of the clouds in it, too.

I have just finished a poem that was, in part, inspired by clouds, too, but will have to wait for the posting limit to expire before posting it…It is actually pt.2 of my poem “Mascara maze”, and just when I had finished it, I found your “Taste for anonymity” and couldn’t help thinking: What a coincidence, that we both are being “haunted” by past grievances at the moment…

Oh Ink dragon’s in the sky
crooked star-patterns tossed awry
evil looks and flashy trends
when beneath she got such charm
wouldn’t do you any harm
loves to ride the midnight horse
across the skies without remorse
sensitively tweeks the Greeks
philosophies and torn white breeks
she’s flying high that bird
in skies of every hue
not only purple but not blue
what colour is it makes just you
we’ll have to try to understand
your learned words that stand
right there beside your famous hand.
